Last week, Mrs. Reindl joined Mrs. May’s Housing and Home Furnishing class to guide students in designing both traditional and modern homes using Canva as a template before sketching their ideas. This week, she returned to share even more creative skills, teaching students how to build a swatchboard (Mood Board) in Canva and explore helpful tips and tricks for working with images and color palettes. Students are gaining hands-on experience with design tools that bring their ideas to life! #Canva #InnovativeApprochestoHomeDesign

Our North School staff showed their support for Mrs. Crowe by wearing pink on September 17! 🌸
We are so proud to stand with her and send love, strength, and encouragement from our school family. 💕

Miss Kathy was on a roll this morning, greeting our North School students dressed as a HOT DOG to celebrate today’s lunch menu! 🌭💛
She sure knows how to ketchup with the kids and make mornings extra fun! 😄

McTeacher Night is coming up and you won’t want to miss it! Come grab a bite, see your favorite teachers working the drive-thru, greeting families in the lobby, serving at the counter, and spreading smiles in the seating area, all while supporting our school. A portion of the evening’s sales will go back to our students and classrooms. 💛🍟

Jackie cited that her brother Troy, a Taylorville resident, was an avid artist with a love for sketching that permeated his daily life. Jackie recalled that "He always carried a sketchbook with him wherever he went, always giving away drawings" to those he found company with. He was particularly interested in drawing and painting graffiti art and unique, playful robot characters.
Jackie shared one of Troy's last social media posts that was particularly poignant. It reads, "I consistently say 'make art friends' because I truly believe artists make life better. You don't have to be a famous artist or even a good artist, you can be a bad artist and you're still gonna improve existence for having tried."
A very special and heartfelt THANK YOU to Jackie Tolan from the TJHS art community! May Troy's memory live on in our students!

Honoring Aurora’s Patriotism at North Elementary School!
After seeing our recent post about TJHS student, Aurora Sleboda and her dedication to caring for the American flag each day, the THS Football Program wanted to recognize her in a special way.
Today, Ethan Smith, a THS football player, visited North to present Aurora with an American Flag helmet sticker. In the THS Football Program, this sticker is awarded to players who demonstrate patriotism, community spirit, and leadership both on and off the field, making it a true symbol of pride and honor.
Thank you to Jeb Odam and the THS Football Program for acknowledging Aurora’s pride, initiative, and service. Congratulations, Aurora, on this well-deserved recognition! 🏈💙❤️ 🏈🎖️

Thank you for your generosity!

Let's give a big shout-out to Aurora Sleboda, a student from TJHS, who is also a member of Scouting America!
Aurora has taken on a wonderful responsibility at North Elementary. Every day after school, she comes to North to properly take down and fold the American flag. She took the initiative to approach the principal, Mr. Cunningham, and offered to not only teach the proper flag-folding technique but also to help with the task herself.
This is a fantastic example of responsibility and service to her community. Thank you, Aurora!

Students at North Elementary had a special surprise when our mascot, Tommy Tornado, stopped by for a visit! Smiles, high-fives, and lots of excitement filled the halls as Tommy brought school spirit to every classroom.
