The Red Apple recipient for the month of April is Mrs. Febus. Mrs. Febus teaches 6th grade English-Language Arts and also serves as the TJHS Drama Club sponsor. In fact, her latest production, "Snow White-Rebooted" is set to debut this Friday and Saturday, May 10 at TJHS. Her favorite book is, "To Kill a Mockingbird" and her fondest memories include all of the plays she has gotten to direct, especially the ones when her own children participated. She enjoys teaching at TJHS because of the camaraderie here and in the community. Thank you Mrs. Febus. Our non-certified staff member of the month is Mrs. Kirsten Beaman our School Resource Officer. Mrs. Beaman strives each and everyday to maintain a safe learning environment for our staff and students. She works well with students and staff to promote the well-being of others and each year delivers the "To Good For Drugs" program to our 5th grade class. Thank you Officer Beaman for your dedicated service to our school and community. Her fondest memories include those times when she has been able to assist students academically and see the turnaround in the effort and attitude.

Congratulations to Memorial students of the month for April! April's character trait was gratitude: Say thank you when someone gives you something or does something for you. Say thank you when others think of you by helping, supporting and loving you. Celebrate the joys and accomplishments of others and be happy when they celebrate your own accomplishments. Pictured left to right are: Front row- Layla Vail, Gracelynn Droke, Logan Keeling, Hazel Skinner, Seth Gray Back row- Benjamin Kerr, Henslee Wisdom, Josie Casillas, Ryder Durham, Parker Withrow, Kinsley Hall Not pictured- Kaley Kleimola Thank you to FNB for sponsoring our students of the month!

On Saturday, April 26th, during a break between Storm 13U doubleheader games where he was umpiring, Baron Odam received a surprise award presentation from Mrs. April Wolfe (THS Teacher) and her family as he was presented the Jacob William Memorial Scholarship. Mrs. Wolfe felt this timing was particularly fitting as Baron is preparing to play collegiate baseball and has been such a positive influence on younger generations of athletes. Congratulations Baron!!!

This year we honor Sarah Wagner as our outstanding 8th grade student of the year. Please join me in congratulating her along with her parents Mark and Cynthia Wagner. Fourth grade students collaborated with volunteer Mr. White to complete a culminating project on simple machines. For the challenge, students designed and built machines to help “wee people” transport bars of silver over a distance of at least one meter. Using everyday household items, they creatively incorporated pulleys, wheels and axles, inclined planes, screws, and wedges to complete the task, applying what they learned in a fun and hands-on way.
