What's in the best bubble solution ever? Ms. Anderson's class has been discussing the differences between mixtures and solutions. They explored and tested surface tension by mixing up some solutions with different substances to create the best bubble solution.

We're looking for substitute teachers. Join us for this event at North Elementary School on March 13th @ 5:30PM.

Ashley Damery, a workforce consultant from Memorial Hospital, spoke with Ms. Anderson’s STEM classes about the different careers and pathways available in the medical field. Students completed an interest summary to narrow down a path they might be interested in. This partnership with Memorial is a nice introduction to the Medical Detective Unit that the students will start 4th quarter. The class will hear from individuals in surgical technology, imaging, respiratory therapy, and the lab later in the year.

We're playing catch up because of ALL the amazing things happening at TCUSD 3. Here are our 1st Graders in Mrs. Haselhorst's room predicting and graphing the Super Bowl winners. They predicted, counted tallies, and used their addition skills to answer questions about our graph.

Second graders at North Elementary are learning how to count and add pennies, nickels, and dimes. We are focusing on understanding the value of each coin and practicing how to combine them to find the total amount. We love to see our students practicing their practical math skills!

Attention Tornado Families: Just a reminder that school will not be in session on Monday, March 3rd for a Teacher's institute.

Our tiniest Tornadoes used conversation hearts to work on colors, counting and matching skills. Pre-K really knows how to make their lessons sweet!

Attention Class of 2029!
We are excited to invite you to our Freshman Orientation, where you'll get a sneak peek into life at Taylorville High School. Join us on Thursday, February 27th at 6:00pm for an informative session where you’ll hear from THS staff about everything our school has to offer. You'll also have the opportunity to tour the building. Plus, don’t miss the Activity Fair, where you can learn about the many clubs, sports, and extracurriculars you can be a part of! We can’t wait to see you there and help you kick off this exciting next chapter in your academic journey. This is open to all current 8th grade students and parents. It's a great day to be a Tornado!

Mrs. Reindl had Mrs. Salmon's 6th grade classes in the stem lab the week of Feb. 10th - 14th. The students had a website on Earth's layers. The website had a z-space activity, google drawing activity, Lego fun, word wall activities, video review's and songs and parodies. Student worked in groups designing and answering questions. They used the oculus as astronauts on a space launch. It was a fun learning experience.
