Ms. Jett's fourth-grade students eagerly took on the challenge of programming Finch robots, thanks to the ROE's lending program. Through block coding, they explored how to make the robots move, react, and display colorful lights. The hands-on activity brought coding concepts to life, making learning both fun and engaging!
Miss McCallister's Class
In Miss McCallister's class, third graders took on the role of young programmers using Finch robots borrowed from the ROE. Through block coding, they made the robots move, light up, and respond to commands. The hands-on activity made coding concepts accessible and exciting for all students!
Fourth graders in Mrs. Donovan's class dived into the basics of block coding using Finch robots borrowed from the ROE. They programmed the robots to complete tasks, light up, and navigate challenges, gaining confidence in their coding abilities and discovering the exciting possibilities of STEM!
Mrs. Thomas's Class
Mrs. Thomas's third graders jumped into block coding with Finch robots, on loan from the ROE, turning their classroom into a hub of innovation. Students enjoyed programming the robots to follow paths, change colors, and make sounds. The lesson was a fun and engaging way to build foundational coding skills!
Miss Taylor's Class
Miss Taylor's third-grade students were thrilled to work with Finch robots, thanks to the ROE’s lending program. Using block coding, they programmed the robots to perform various tasks, building confidence and excitement around coding. The experience opened doors to future STEM learning and exploration.
In Mrs. Long's class, fourth-grade students were thrilled to work with Finch robots from the ROE. They used block coding to create movement sequences, navigate obstacles, and even perform light shows. The experience was both educational and fun, leaving students eager to learn more about coding!

Miss Basil's Class
Third graders in Miss Basil's class had an exciting time exploring block coding with the Finch robots, generously borrowed from the ROE. Students worked collaboratively to program their robots to move, light up, and even draw shapes. The hands-on experience brought coding concepts to life, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for technology!
The THS Jazz/Pep Band will travel tomorrow to play at the IHSA Boys Basketball Championship Games in the State Farm Arena at U of I. These students were chosen based on their talents and the level of excellence that they aspire to every day. Please wish them good luck on what will be an excellent performance tomorrow. This experience is a fantastic opportunity for our students!
The TJHS Builders Club raised $200 during our Valentine's Crush fundraiser and donated the proceeds to the Christian County Animal Shelter and Ms. Dwanna Kelmel. A big thank you to everyone that supported the effort and we hope to do it again next year. The Builders Club is an extention of the Key Club at THS and the Kiwanis Club in the greater Taylorville community.
Miss Johnson's Class
In Miss Johnson's class, third graders embraced the challenge of block coding using Finch robots from the ROE. The students eagerly programmed the robots to navigate and complete tasks, enhancing their problem-solving skills and teamwork. The joy of seeing their code come to life was a highlight for everyone!
Yearbooks for this school year are on sale now! From now until Spring Break, basic yearbooks are $60 each. After Spring Break, the cost will rise to $75!
Fourth graders in Mrs. Castle's class took on the exciting challenge of programming Finch robots, thanks to the ROE's lending program. Using block coding, students guided the robots through mazes, lit them up with colorful patterns, and explored basic programming concepts with enthusiasm and creativity!
