Taylorville High School band director Cliff Jourdan served as a presenter at the Illinois Music Education Conference this week. His session focused on the crucial information that all new music teachers need, but usually aren't taught to them in college. The session included practical input from both new and veteran teachers and incorporated his experiences as a "new" teacher in Taylorville. He is shown in this photo with co-presenter Amanda Maloney of Vandalia Public Schools. Congratulations to Mr. Jourdan.

Congratulations to our Red Apple recipient, Mrs. Jacqueline Foil and Mr. Brian Sample, our December staff member of the month.
Mrs. Foil fondly remembers that a teacher made a difference in her life and enjoys having previous students visit her at TJHS. She teaches because of the lifelong connections she is able to make with her students and the blessing it is to be an educator.
Mr. Sample is our support staff member of the month and serves as a 1:1 aide within our educational programming. Not only does Mr. Sample make a difference in the lives of the kids he assists, but he also puts in many hours as the TJHS athletic director. Some of his fondest memories come from post-season games and the enjoyment it brought to the players.
These two individuals exemplify the positive impact educators have on the lives of individuals and the greater community.
