Our 3rd graders participated in the Land of Smiles assembly, presented by Delta Dental this morning, where they learned all about the importance of proper dental hygiene. Through fun and engaging activities, students discovered how to take care of their teeth, the benefits of regular brushing and flossing, and the impact of a healthy smile on overall well-being. It was a fantastic way to reinforce healthy habits in a fun, memorable way!

Thank you for supporting the Builders Club Food Drive this year! Our kids and community did a great job of caring for others by collecting 2,159 donated items and $307.41 in cash. We exceeded our goal of 2000 items because of our collective efforts. The winners of the breakfast pizza class party is Mrs. Tyler's class, and the second and third place classes Mrs. Febus's 1st period and Ms. Laker's class will both receive ice cream sandwich parties.

Mrs. Haselhorst’s class had some special reading buddies join them today! The students enjoyed cozying up with their favorite plush pals while diving into some exciting books. This fun and engaging activity made reading time even more special, as the students practiced their reading skills alongside their soft, cuddly companions. It was a fantastic way to combine literacy and a little extra fun in the classroom!

Some more pictures from 5th grade's most recent field trip to Rock Springs! Our 5th graders had an incredible day filled with learning and adventure. Our students explored various educational stations, including: World of Water, Ponds/Wetlands, Native Americans, and Archery. Some skills students learned was about the importance of these ecosystems and their role in our environment, water conservation and water cycle, information to help students understand the heritage of Native American Culture, and hands on experience that taught students about focus, coordination, and teamwork.

Tuesday, Mrs. Reindl visited Mrs. Salmon's 7th grade Science classes to share some awesome tips on making Google Slides presentations that stand out! She also discussed the importance of speaking and presenting effectively. Some of the tips and tricks that she presented to the class were: use simple backgrounds that won’t distract from your content, stick to a few colors that match your topic, how to include images that are clear and relevant to your topic, avoid using too many images on one slide, use bullet points to summarize key ideas(do not read directly from bullet points), and visuals can help your audience understand complex information- (incorporate videos and other visuals to make your point clear). Some of the communication skills she discussed were: Make eye contact, smile, connect with your audience, practice presentation, and speak with steady pace and project voice. Mrs. Reindl’s visit was a great opportunity for students to learn how to create eye-catching presentations and improve their speaking skills

Today was a special day in Ms. Sharrow and Ms. Barringer's classes because it was Mrs. Reindl's last day teaching Digital Citizenship! To make it memorable, she created a fun digital escape room for the students to complete. The students had a blast working together to solve the challenges! After completing the escape room, the students took some time to reflect on their experience. Many students talked about new things they discovered about being safe online. Some students shared their prior knowledge about digital citizenship. The students mentioned their favorite puzzles and tasks from the escape room. Mrs. Reindl loved hearing all their thoughts and feelings about the activities. It was a great way to wrap up her time with the classes!

Mrs. Mahan’s, Mrs. Wolf's and Mrs. Woodrum's Kindergarten classes had a spook-tacular time labeling, building, and listening to Creepy Carrots activities with Ms. Reiser and Mrs. Thomas! From building their own creations to practicing key labeling skills, these curious kinders dove right into the fun and learned all about those sneaky carrots. It was a day filled with creativity, teamwork, and a little bit of spooky fun!

Mrs. Thomas and Ms. Reiser taught a lesson using the book Creepy Carrots, where students learned labeling and then used toothpicks and pool noodles to construct a fence around a carrot patch.
