"Tornadoes Together" is a 5th grade club created by Ally Koniak and Amber Achenbach. Their hope is to connect peers with students in our life skills class, "FACeS" to make life-long friendships. All of these kids are amazing and their hearts are in the right place! Thank you for making TJHS a better place to be each and everyday through your leadership!! Faculty sponsors are Matt Peabody and Lynn Dexheimer.

TJHS Track practice is in full swing! Spring is here and best wishes to all of our TCUSD #3 spring sport student/athletes!!

In January, the Tech Team released a new program titled Twisted Training. TCUSD3 staff members can earn badges for completing a variety of training programs and learn new skills at their own pace. For example, staff can earn a Chromebook Fundamentals badge for completing a training on the basics of using a Chromebook. This morning the Tech Team recognized the Badge Masters for the 3rd quarter with a Crumbl Cookie. These individuals earned the most badges in their respective buildings. Congratulations to Dawn Reiser, Emily Repscher, Jennifer Richardson, and Melissa Davidson!

North School is beginning the pre-registration process for incoming Kindergarten students for the 2024-25 school year. A child’s birth date determines whether or not they will attend kindergarten in the fall.
If the child turns 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2024, they are allowed to register for kindergarten for the next school year. There are times a parent chooses to keep their child in preschool.
Per ISBE, if a child turns 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2024, the district is not permitted to enroll them in the public preschool program (PREP). Therefore, the student would either attend a private preschool or register for kindergarten.
All incoming kindergarten students must have a physical, proof of vaccinations, a dental exam and a vision exam prior to entering kindergarten. It would be helpful to schedule those appointments as soon as possible, as the clinics get overwhelmed in the summer. The district also needs a certified copy of each student’s birth certificate and two proofs of residency. If possible, return those with your pre-registration information. If a child attends a Taylorville preschool, packets will be delivered to the preschool. If the child does not currently attend a Taylorville preschool, stop by North School Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-3:30 pm.
Registration materials can be turned in at the family event at North School on Tuesday, Mar. 19 at 6:00 p.m. Jim Gill will be entertaining with his “read along-sing along” activities. Doors open at 5:50. Bring a blanket for the family to sit and enjoy the concert.
Anyone with questions can email kkuntzman@tcusd3.org or call the school office at 217-824-3315.

Coach Peabody really appreciates these two young men. Why? They absolutely took responsibility for cleaning up the bleachers after the volleyball game last night and the key is that no one asked them to do this. Way to go Kaydon and Kyson, leaders now and leading in the future at THS!

Meet Mrs. Raimee Craggs, our Red Apple recipient for the month of January at TJHS. Mrs. Craggs makes a positive difference in the lives of her students and peers each day. She really enjoys seeing the progress students make as they learn new concepts. Her favorite time of year is Christmas Eve with the whole family together and her favorite book is "The Outsiders." Mrs. Craggs teaches 6th and 7th grade English Language Arts. Thank you for your tireless dedication.
Our January support staff member of the month is Nurse Lindsay Fox. Mrs. Fox balances her wonderful family with dedicated service to our students and staff each day. She bandages the scrapes, works through the crazy paperwork associated with nursing, and manges to bring a vibrant sense of humor with her each day. She is not afraid of a challenge and is currently taking classes toward her Masters Degree in Nursing Education. Her fondest memory is the birth of her son and somewhat ironically, her favorite book is "The Silent Patient." Thank you Nurse Fox for always going the extra mile to take care of us all.
