Mrs. Johnson’s third-grade are spreading positivity by writing inspirational thoughts on their desks! These uplifting messages serve as daily reminders to stay motivated, kind, and focused. Whether it’s “I’ve got this!” or “Be the reason someone smiles today,” students can glance down for a boost of encouragement whenever they need it. This creative approach not only inspires personal growth but also fosters a positive classroom environment.

In Mrs. Reber's 6th grade science class, Mrs. Reindl visited to teach students about coding using spheros, which are fun, robotic balls that can be programmed to move, light up, and make sounds. This exciting activity allowed students to combine science and technology while learning important coding concepts. Mrs. Reindl explained that in both coding and science experiments, it’s important to change only one variable at a time. This means if you want to see how a change affects the Sphero's movement, you should only adjust one thing, like speed or direction, instead of changing everything at once. The students learned how to give commands to the spheros. They practiced coding to:
- Move: Control the direction and speed of the spheros.
- Light Up: Change the colors of the spheros to make them look cool.
- Make Sounds: Program the spheros to play different sounds while they moved. This hands-on coding experience with spheros not only made science fun but also helped students understand the importance of variables in both coding and scientific experiments. They left the class excited about technology and eager to learn more!

This morning, Mrs. May took her Child Care Occupation class on an exciting field trip to Central School Preschool. The purpose of this visit was to gain valuable experience and knowledge about preschool development. During the visit, high school students had the opportunity to interact with preschool students through various fun activities. These interactions not only helped the high schoolers learn about child development but also allowed them to engage with the younger children in a meaningful way. A huge thank you goes out to the following teachers for hosting our class and making this experience possible: Mrs. Bryan, Mrs. Held, Mrs. West, Mrs. McKee, and Mrs. Waters. Your efforts in creating a welcoming environment for our students are greatly appreciated! Both the high school students and the preschoolers had a fantastic time together. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved, and we look forward to more experiences like this in the future!

Mrs. Hooper's 2nd graders had an exciting first experience with coding and discovery using the Sphero Indi robots! Ms. Reiser had students explore the basics of problem-solving and sequencing as they guided their robots through different color-coded paths. This hands-on activity sparked creativity and teamwork, providing a fun introduction to computational thinking. It’s just the beginning of their coding adventures! 🚗💡
