Mrs. Reindl went into all the 5th grade classes this week and taught the students about their digital footprint. She read "The Technology Tail" by Julia Cook to the classes. Then students designed their own tail. They used band -aides to cover any bruises or scratches (bad things posted online), stickers (good or helpful things they have done online), and holes (not so smart things they have shared online). It was a great learning activity.

Last week, all the 5th grade classes in our school received their first digital citizenship lesson from Mrs. Reindl. Here's what the students learned: The students discussed what it means to be a "digital citizen". They learned that as we use more and more technology and go online, we all have certain responsibilities to be good, ethical, and safe digital citizens. The class talked about the difference between right and wrong when it comes to online behavior. They discussed things like being kind to others, protecting your personal information, and using technology appropriately. The students worked together to go through different online scenarios. They had to decide what the right thing to do would be in each situation, and why. This helped them practice making good choices when using technology. Overall, the digital citizenship lesson gave the 5th graders a great foundation for being responsible and safe as they continue using computers, phones, and the internet more and more. It's an important lesson that will help them become better digital citizens.

In Mrs. Haselhorst's first-grade class, students celebrated Dot Day by diving into creative activities inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The students expressed their creativity by making their own unique dots, exploring how even a simple mark can lead to beautiful artwork. It was a day filled with imagination, art, and the excitement of discovering their own artistic potential.
