Ms. McChristy’s 5th graders practiced adding and subtracting decimals by creating holiday wishlists! They put their math skills to the test!











Mrs. Grant’s 1st grade class at North Elementary School celebrated Christmas in their classroom by making edible Christmas trees! A lot of delicious fun was had!!!







On the final Friday of the semester, we celebrated our amazing students at Taylorville Junior High School with a pizza party honoring their hard work during the Fannie May candy fundraiser! 🏆
Thanks to their efforts and your generous support, our top fundraisers enjoyed delicious Angelo’s pizza and McDonald’s cheeseburgers as a token of our appreciation. 🍔🍕
The Fannie May fundraiser is Student Council’s largest fundraiser of the year, and every purchase helps support our school and students in meaningful ways. Last year, your contributions allowed us to purchase the big purple canopy tent for the recess area—a favorite spot for students to gather and play.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful community for continuing to show up and support TJHS. You are making a difference in the lives of our students, and we couldn’t do it without you! 💛💜











Mrs. Mateer’s class at North Elementary School recently wrapped up their gingerbread mini unit with the Gingerbread Man escaping from their read aloud. There were several different clues that they had to figure out and were always reminded to walk, walk, walk! He ended up escaping from them, but left them with a sweet treat!






School board members and Superintendent Bruley attended a meeting and got a visit from the Grinch.

The TJHS Builders Club sponsored Christmas cards creation and delivery for our senior citizens throughout the assisted living facilities in Taylorville. We are so thankful for opportunities to show our appreciation!


Mrs. Johnson’s 5th grade class at TJHS is spreading holiday cheer, and they have some serious sweater game!

This year the Taylorville High School Rise classroom celebrated Christmas in their new mock apartment. The received a Christmas tree through donation and made Christmas ornaments and purchased ornaments and decorations at Wal-Mart. We then drew names and had a gift exchange on Wednesday and made homemade pizzas, French fries, cheese dips and gingerbread cookies.

Mrs. Grants first grade class celebrated Reindeer Day. They had several fun activities throughout the day that included making reindeer hats, completing a directed drawing of a reindeer, making reindeer food, and even watching live reindeer at the North Pole on Santa’s reindeer cam.








The teachers in the 8th grade wing at TJHS enthusiastically participated in the holiday dress up theme of: Holiday Accessory Day!

The teachers at TJHS had some holiday fun by decorating their doors for the season. The teachers had a fun time decorating with students, and they enjoyed seeing the holiday cheer around the school.

TJHS Sunshine Committee held fun activities for teachers. These activities included a cookie exchange, ornament decorating, and a fun Christmas party.

The students in Mrs. Klingler's class crafted reindeer headbands and attached CVC words to them. They then created a list and walked around, trying to identify all the CVC words as part of their reindeer games.


Central Pre-K teachers are preparing for a fun day of Christmas programs today.

As a reminder, our winter break begins on December 23 and will conclude on January 6.. School will resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
