Have you heard of "Be the Match?"
Be the Match is an organization that assists patients in getting life saving transplants. For patients diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma and other life-threatening diseases, a bone marrow or cord blood transplant may be their best or only hope for a cure. Be the Match performs screenings of donors to find the best match for patients. They also conduct research to find answers that will lead to better donor matching, more timely transplants, and treatment of even more blood diseases through transplant.
Our own Miss Marty Deetz is currently donating her stem cells to a man who has leukemia. We are so proud of her, and hope that her story will encourage others to register with Be the Match and hopefully save more lives!
